This Is Where I Belong: The Songs of Ray Davies & The Kinks. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Though the Kinks probably invented heavy metal bombast, these tracks portray Ray Davies' sensitive and introspective muse. Ron Sexsmith's reading of the title track captures the author's original feelings of isolation amid the psychedelic pageantry of swingin' '60s London, while cuts such as Better Things by Fountains of Wayne and Matthew Sweet's interpretation of Big Sky sound as fresh and vital as the day they were written. Ray Davies himself along with Damon Albarn closes the album with a live version of Waterloo Sunset - a song that has been called the greatest single of the late 1960's. A worthy tribute to one of the finest songwriters of rock during 4 decades. Read more. Taken altogether, this is a wonderful collection of songs. The Kinks. This Is Where I Belong. Ray Davies. The importance of the songwriter Ray Davies may be derived from the fact that there was already a tribute-album appears, while the man is still alive. An additional advantage is that Davies now itself in the liner notes the contributions, of Fountains Of Wayne, Bebel Gilberto, Matthew Sweet, Ron Sexsmith and Fastball, from his famous deadpan comment can provide. Too bad he still has heard none of the executions. In the Encore sings as a duet with the famous Waterloo Sunset Davies Blur singer Damon Albarn.
