Great Album and stands the test of time its a shame Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson are no longer with us but this album just rocks , cheers. Sending feedback. Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. Under the direction of guitarist Andy Taylor, the Power Station is an attempt to break free from the constraints of Duran Duran's polished synth pop, adding elements of funk, courtesy of Chic drummer Tony Thompson, as well as straight-ahead hard rock, courtesy of vocalist Robert Palmer. Everything is polished with a glossy sheen, which makes the record sound quite similar to Duran Duran, although without their sense of popcraft. Consisting of Duran Durans bassist and guitarist John Taylor and Andy Taylor, Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and full-throated vocalist Robert Palmer, the band had an excellent pedigree in funk and stylish rock n roll. The bands eponymous 1985 debut achieves its initial intention of merging tantalizing funk rhythms with the substantial firepower of Led Zeppelin. The albums secret weapon, though, is Thompson. Along with Chic overseer Bernard Edwards who produced this, Thompson brings a heavy, low-end force to the work. This is one of the most powerful songs by The Power Station, from their debut album back in 1985. I decided to make a video mixing some footage from , the station stopped broadcasting. Perhaps, this is a temporary station problem. You can leave your e-mail and we will let you know when the broadcast of the station will be online again: Or listen to the other country
