Album

Recycled Plastik is an extended play by Canadian electronic music producer Richie Hawtin under the alias Plastikman. It was released in 1994 by Novamute Records. The EP, released a few months before the Plastikman album Musik, features Spastik, which has been described as perhaps most well-known Plastikman production, a signature track that never ceased to inspire feverish reactions among Hawtin fanatics. The remaining five tracks are likewise rooted in Hawtin's trademark minimal style. Though Recycled Plastik isn't nearly as thematic or continuous as the other Plastikman releases, it functions well for what it is, an EP intended to showcase Spastik and set the stage for the upcoming Musik looking, Recycled Plastik is quite probably Richie Hawtin's most important release under the Plastikman name. That is mainly due to the inclusion of the acid head nodder Krakpot, and the two tight minimal numbers Elektrostatik and Spastik, neither of which should need an introduction. The rest I already forgot about, but these three make this mini album an obligatory buy. Recycled Plastik. Plastikman - Recycled Plastik 1994. To favorites 0 Download album. Listen album. Simple strucutre, plain textures and impressive percussion work coupled with an undeniable drive, monotonous patterns and subtracted layers are the key terms to describe these stripped down, yet highly enjoyable tracks. Fun stuff, and it used to be hella popular as well!
Dakora
This classic techno mini-album contains the famous Spastik, which is a fairly simplistic track consisting basically of stuttering snare roles over a kick drum. An instant classic when it was released in 1993, this record, probably more than any other, cemented Hawtin's position as a techno innovator.
Topmen
Essentially a 303 + 808 (909?) piece. The Gak remix gets moving pretty well. The rest sounds like "my first rebirth tracks" imo. Perhaps good material for a DJ to mix into a acid / detroit-ish set.
