Album

Apple Scruffs is a song by English musician George Harrison, released on his 1970 triple album All Things Must Pass. It was written as a tribute to the die-hard Beatles fans known as Apple scruffs, who would wait in certain London locations where the band members were likely to appear, even long after the group's break-up in April 1970. The recording has been noted for its Bob Dylan influence, featuring Harrison on acoustic guitar and harmonica, and is recognised as a departure from the big sound. The Apple scruffs were a loosely-knit group of hardcore Beatles fans who were known for congregating outside the Apple Corps building and at the gates of Abbey Road Studios in London during the waning days of Beatlemania, in the hope of seeing or interacting with one of the band members. The name was first coined by George Harrison, who also recorded the song Apple Scruffs as a tribute to them for his 1970 triple album All Things Must Pass. In November 1968, the album Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins was released. APPLE SCRUFFS - George Harrison's tribute to Beatles fans, from his brilliant ALL THINGS MUST PASS album in 1970.
