Considering the personnel Curtis Fuller and Ake Persson on trombones, the young Freddie Hubbard and Benny Bailey on trumpets, altoist Phil Woods, tenor saxophonist Eric Dixon, baritonist Sahib Shihab, pianist Patti Bown, bassist Buddy Catlett and drummer Stu Martin, it is not surprising that there are some excellent solos, but little unexpected occurs on this recording.
