Walk Together, Rock Together, the second real release by Reno, NV hardcore legends 7 Seconds, was released by BYO Records in 1985 as a nine song LP, then re-released in 1986 with six additional live tracks. Both versions contain what is probably and unfortunately 7 Seconds' best-known song, a warp-speed cover of Nenas 99 Red Balloons. The re-release is easily distinguished by the cover artwork, which features a brightly colored retouched photo of the band members, in contrast to the original release, which consists of a pen-scribbled cartoon rendition of 7 Seconds performing live. Their second release, Walk Together, Rock Together was recorded in Washington DC at the infamous Inner Ear with Ian MacKaye and remains this day, one of BYO's most popular releases. It's funny how this hardcore punk band spent years writing songs from a personal and positive stance only to be remembered for a goofy cover tune. For instance, 7 Seconds' 99 Red Balloons which was borrowed from Nena, a one-hit wonder in the U. became a punk pop classic after it was culled from this 1985 album. My copy has a different running order on side 1:Regress No WayWe're Gonna FightIn Your FaceSpread99 Red BalloonsRemains To Be SeenWalk Together Rock TogetherHow Do You Think You'd Feelplus an extra unlisted track - StrengthIs this correct ?
I was planning on getting this vinyl as I had the 1985 release and was wondering where Strength was. Good to know it's on there as unlisted track. Maybe they just forgot. I know the CD version lists it.
Dear punk_oldie, I have been documentating all of my music from my personal music collection here at discogs. Got about 530 itemsinputed w/ at least 100 more to go, or probably closer to 200 more. Anyways, I just read your comment that this is in response tro. And, I"m looking at the track listing while listening to it thinking, this isn't the same!! The one you have listed w/. "Regress" & "We're" as tracks #1 & 2 is how mine is set up as well. Then it goes into the "Walk.. Rock" regular mini album that came out a year earlier with the all black n yellow covers & drawn picture on front which , like yours does, include "Strength" butt omits it from the listing & label. So here's that answer you've been waiting for, for over 5 years: "THAT IS CORRECT!!"
So am i, i have the same issue , but its ok
yes i've listened to several copies and all of them have this same tracklist
same here.
